Microsoft ActiveSync is a "Direct Push Technology" which enables the mail server to send or "push" the email to the device as soon as it arrives on the Exchange 2010 server. This feature is built-in on Windows Mobile–based devices. You experience the same familiar Microsoft Office Outlook environment, extended from your desktop or laptop to your mobile device, including the new iPhone 3G Exchange 2010 email. You also enjoy the benefits of the direct integration with Exchange 2010 ActiveSync, avoiding expensive middleware or service fees that might be required with other mobile solutions.

Exchange 2010 ActiveSync is supported on a wide variety of mobile devices . This includes devices that run the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system, as well as devices and software from DataViz, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Palm, Motorola, and Symbian.
